Welcome to Episode 5 of my series 'The New Jazz Cool' where this time I focus on Remixes and Edits of both Jazz and Hip Hop tracks. To me these are a perfect example of Dj culture and modern technology.
This set features producers that I have found on soundcloud and elsewhere that are not only melding classic jazz beats and samples with hip hop, but taking it further and in their bedrooms, lofts and home studios pushing the boundaries of the technology and internet culture that they have in front of them, while keeping one firm eye on the past and the other on the future.
I believe these producers are both helping keep the Jazz genre alive and pushing it's boundaries endlessly on.
Here is just a small snippet of some of the new and current artists I'm digging and I hope you'll dig them to!
Please be sure to check out the other 4 podcasts in my series of 'The New Jazz Cool' and help by spreading the word and coming back for future episodes!
Enjoy...
