Dr. Susan Fisher is mother to two daughters, a researcher, and professor of obstetrics, gynecology, and reproductive sciences in the School of Medicine at the University of California, San Francisco. For decades, she has been at the forefront of research on prenatal development. She has always been struck by the fact that while we parents teach our children about a lot of things, pregnancy is seldom one of those things.
