We all know that lots of things have change over the last few years in hairdressing with the massive help of social media in our marketing and the constant evolution of salon software.
But one of the things, that kind of snook up on us, is the way in which we lead our teams.
All of these incredible advances in technology has led or stylists to a new level of independency. They no longer need to rely solely on "the boss" to fill their book with guests. They no longer have to wait until the end of the month to sit-down with their salon manager to figure out if they hit commission or have remained on target to smash a goal. They have the ability to build their brand and run their business right from their phone or tablet.
This means that as a leader, we need to alter our leadership style!
Times have dramatically changed over the last 10 years and if we are still trying to "Rule the Roost" using archaic methods, we will loose team members and struggle to attract new ones.
