The basics of story-telling go like this:

Take a hero; put him in a tree; throw rocks at him; get him out of the tree.

You can't ask that your story end while still in the tree. Perhaps the chapter you are currently living is full of rocks. And they hurt. And there is lots of them. And then you hear God say, "But wait, there's more..."
