Contrary to what many believe, God is not backward-focused. He isn’t trying to drag us back to a primitive, barbaric, regressive, prescientific age. He isn’t opposed to reason, liberation, and progress. Instead, he is pulling and calling and drawing us into greater peace, love, justice, connection, honesty, compassion, and joy. When you believe that, everything changes.
