Becoming a single mom wasn't the chapter I imagined for myself, and learning how to navigate it has been one of the biggest transitions of my life. In this episode, I open up about the reality of single motherhood—the hard days, the responsibility, the loneliness, the strength it has required, and the lessons I'm still learning along the way. Most importantly, I share how I'm learning to create a peaceful, loving life for my children while also finding and becoming the next version of myself.
In this episode, I open up about one of the hardest decisions of my life—the decision to get divorced. I share what it was like to realize that, despite the work and history in a marriage, sometimes two people can reach a point where the relationship is no longer working. This is an honest conversation about letting go, trusting yourself, and recognizing that both people deserve more. I also reflect on creating space for a future that feels more aligned, while acknowledging that choosing divorce is never an easy decision.
In this very first episode, I share the story behind The Next Version of Her and why I felt called to start this podcast. I open up about growing up with a single mom, experiencing adversity, and how those experiences shaped the woman I became. I talk about choosing a different path, creating a life my younger self could only dream of, and navigating motherhood, divorce, and the journey of finding myself again. Most importantly, I share what “the next version of her” means to me—and why I believe we are never finished growing, healing, and becoming.

The Next Version of Her is a podcast for women navigating change, healing, relationships, motherhood, and the journey of becoming more fully themselves.
Hosted by Danica Lynn, this is…
Through personal stories, lessons learned, and conversations about the things we don't always talk about, Danica explores what it means to move through adversity without allowing it to define you—and how to create a life that feels aligned with who you are becoming.
Because your past may be part of your story, but it doesn't have to determine your future.
You don't have to have it all figured out. You don't have to become someone completely different.
You simply have to be willing to heal, grow, and become.
This is The Next Version of Her. Welcome.
