Page Love is a weekly book review podcast to help your reading list grow. The Nickel Boys” follows the story of a young black boy in the south whose life was ruptured by laws of the Jim Crow era.

It is based on the real story of the Dozier School, a reform school in Florida that operated for 111 years and had its history exposed by a university's investigation.

It was named one of TIME's best books of the decade and was awarded the 2020 Pulitzer Prize for Fiction among a number of other awards.
