Ten years ago Tom Nixon had killed Miss Rhodes’ mother in cold blood and was now in jail for it or so Rose thought until that day that she saw him in her building in the elevator and discovered he was the night man. She fears that he has escaped and come back to kill her for testifying against him but Tom couldn’t have for he died in prison.
