In the summer of 2021 degenerates toppled statues of Christopher Columbus, but today members of the Latin community proudly wear Nike Cortez sneakers. The sneakers were named after Spanish Conquistador Hernan Cortez who caused the fall of the Aztec Empire and brought the mainland of Mexico under the rule of 16th century King of Castile.
