Elisa Whyte grew up singing and playing the drums in the Pentecostal church since she was 7 years of age.

She writes songs, but most of all loves to touch the hearts of people through Her singing. Her childhood desire was to use the gift that God has placed within her to transform the lives of others and let them know that there is a true and living God that loves each and everyone of us. Her music has helped her to get through the rough times in life. 

Her family and friends have been there to support her. Both her family including her aunt Margarita Phipps, who was previously on the show as a guest, and friends including her sister in faith Prophetess Janet, encouraged her to use the gifts that god has given her and to perform live on the show. Elisa loves to sing gospel covers at church events and she grew up listening to the classic gospel singers like Vanessa Bell Armstrong, The Clark Sisters and Shirley Cesar. On this episode, Elisa was inspired to sing a cover of a gospel classic, “We Shall Beholden” , written by singer-songwriter Dottie Rambo and later recorded by Sandi Patti, then later covered by The Imperials and Vickie Winans. Elisa chose this gospel song as a reminder of the times we are living in so that we put our trust in our lord almighty.
