In May 2019, Church were on the look out for a new manager following the departure of Ian Long to Stourbridge. With a new management team in place, and the majority of last seasons squad now at Stourbridge, the Church where optimistic around the new season. In November, Church made the choice to replace Darren Byfield, with Head of Academy Dean Holtham returning to 1st team duties after 6 years away. Whilst results on the pitch were proving hard to come by, the Hayes development to move the Church to West Heath was in full swing. With the Church fearing relegation, they made another managerial change and the return of Ian Long.
