Norm Murray speaks with Chef Aleem Syed, whose food truck will be stopping in Mississauga, serving up halal specialties ahead of iftar to celebrate Ramadan this year.100% of the proceeds from each meal sold will be donated to Penny Appeal to help provide food, shelter, and medical aid to those affected by the earthquakes in Turkey, Syria, and Lebanon. In the spirit of giving back, Food Basics will be matching these donations up to $10,000. Residents in Mississauga and beyond are welcome to join in giving back on Sunday, April 16 from 1-6 pm (or until supplies last) all while receiving meals they can breakfast with.
