When first this Corona Virus made its way on the world stage, the researchers involved in studying it called it “Novel.” Meaning, they told us new and different. After all, the Corona Virus is part of a broad range of viruses, which make up a group of diseases which plague mankind. Included in this group of Corona Virus, as some that we recognize as the common cold.

But there were characteristics of this Corona Virus which made it different from the rest; hence: Novel. Only latter would this virus get a new name: Covid 19, the 19 indicating the year it was discovered.

But I think the Novel Corona Virus is more appropriate for this particular Virus, in that it has caused our civilization to behave in ways never seen before.
