He was thrown into oncoming traffic and, during one of his many surgeries, stopped breathing on the operating table. Doctors told him he’d never walk again and that his leg would need to be amputated. But Richie refused to accept that prognosis. What followed was years of relentless rehab, surgeries, and setbacks. He learned to walk again - not once, but eight times! And through it all, he developed an unshakable zest for life.
