Telemachus - Odysseus's coming-of-age son who transforms from a passive, fatherless prince into a courageous and essential brother-in-arms to reclaim his household.

Penelope - Odysseus’s brilliant and fiercely loyal queen who uses her exceptional wit and psychological grit to stall a hundred aggressive suitors for years.

Aegae - ancient underwater city and home of Poseidon

Teem v filled with or swarm with something, often describing an overflowing abundance

Hyperia - original mythical homeland of the Phaeacians, who later migrated to Scheria

Nausithous - A demigod son of Poseidon and Periboea, he was the predecessor and father of King Alcinous (the ruler who later hosts Odysseus). Nausithous led the Phaeacians away from their original home of Hypereia to the island of Scheria to escape the violent Cyclopes.

Alcinous - King of the Phaeacians. Famed for his lavish palace and exemplary hospitality

Nausicaa - only daughter of Alcinous, she is a phaeacian princess who rescues a shipwrecked Odysseus

Dymas - a Phaeacian sea captain

Erymanthus - famous mountain range in the Peloponnese region of ancient Greece
