In which Mrs Jarley’s exhibition delights the townsfolk with the gentle charm of little Nell amid the wax figures, whilst her kind patroness provides comfort and care in their humble abode. And, as a tempest roars without, Nell and her ailing grandfather seek refuge in a public house where the old man’s restless spirit is stirred by the allure of a hazardous card game.
