What if one of the simplest changes you could make to your breakfast could completely change the way you feel throughout the day?
In this episode of The One Decision Away Podcast, I’m revisiting something that has become a surprisingly important part of my daily routine: eating beans for breakfast.
Yes. Beans. For breakfast.
If you’ve spent any time on social media, you may have heard about BeanTok and the conversation around eating beans as part of a high-fiber diet. I originally started experimenting with beans after seeing women talk about the changes they were experiencing, and I decided to see what would happen if I made beans a consistent part of my own morning routine.
What started as an experiment became something I genuinely look forward to.
In this episode, I’m sharing why I continue to eat beans for breakfast, what I noticed when I made this change, and why this has become especially interesting to me as a woman navigating menopause.
I talk about energy, digestion, fiber, blood sugar, gut health, inflammation, and the importance of paying attention to how your own body responds to the foods you eat.
I also share what I’ve learned about soluble fiber and why I think we should be talking much more about the role fiber can play in our overall health and wellness, especially as women get older.
For me, this isn’t about following another extreme diet or jumping on the latest wellness trend.
It’s about finding simple things that make me feel better and that I can actually sustain.
And that’s really the bigger message behind this episode.
Sometimes we’re looking for a complicated answer when the next step might actually be incredibly simple.
This is my personal experience and what has worked for me. It is not medical or nutritional advice, and everyone’s body is different. If you’re making significant changes to your diet or have a medical condition, talk with your healthcare professional about what’s right for you.
If you’re a woman over 40 navigating menopause, changing energy levels, digestion, sleep, weight, or simply trying to figure out why your body suddenly seems to be doing things it never did before, I hope this episode gives you something to think about.
Maybe your next chapter starts with a decision as simple as changing what’s on your breakfast plate.
And sometimes, you really are one decision away.
