This week we look at how the Doctrine of the Fatherhood of God naturally leads to what some in history referred to as “Mother Church” (Augustine). Truly the church of Jesus Christ is a family, a new family, a family produced, that is - birthed by the Father in Heaven and placed in the arms of His Church. Individual sovereignty so prevalent in this day has certainly worked against this doctrine. The refusal to submit rightly to the very real authority of Christ through the local church will result in the inability to access the graces of Christ which have been designed to be received in many ways through the local church.
