I’d first like to apologize for my audio on this day. Something was wrong with my mic and I couldn’t fix it in editing like I hoped. Luckily rachel is awesome and you can hear her amazing story nice and clear! Rachel is coming up on 6 years clean and sober at the end of the month! As she talks about, she kind of fell into working recovery after already getting sober by white knuckling it in the beginning. Now she enjoys writing Children’s stories (which is linked below) also she runs sober livings for women in sobriety! I personally love that she writes childrens books that are relatable for children that have parents in recovery. Also her next books are about trauma and adoption with her first being about a little girl that has a mom coming up on one year sober. It’s so important that we don’t hide what addiction looks like from our kids. When we hide it, they can tell then they’ll seek out their own answers. I’ve found being brutally honest with my kid has definitely been the best way to do it.
