This is the first of a 2 part series on worldview discussions. In the first part, we discuss current geopolitical trends, the events recently happening in Asia, the current state of global financial markets, and how the turmoil in these markets is a reflection of the shifts in geopolitical power structures, which in turn is a reflection of the changing worldviews on a global scale.

It is important for God’s people in the church to understand these things, especially for those who are connected with young people at the high school and college level. Young people will tend to become political activists if they are stirred emotionally by what they are seeing in the world around them, especially if they are negatively affected by global events. If they notice that things are out of balance and not working, and they go to their pastors, parents, or youth leaders to ask what they think, they need to be given solid answers that make sense. If they are not given solid answers that make sense, they will then look for answers from those who do not hold to a Christian worldview, and will be pulled away into the Re-enchantment worldview that is constantly seeking to separate young people from a relationship with God through Christ.
