For centuries, artists have tried to capture the image of God. Scripture tells us that God is Love. Love is neither feminine nor masculine, yet we can’t imagine anything without form, so we have imagined Love, our Creator, as a man with a body. Unable to imagine anything unlike us, we’ve concluded that Love responds to us the same way we respond to each other. In other words, we have created God in our image.
