FIRST CHAPTER FRIDAYS celebrates cultural diversity with a coming of age story by Rebecca Balcárcel.   Quijana is a twelve-year-old girl who’s trying to figure out how to fit in different social places of her life. As she gets older, she realizes she hasn’t learned much about her Guatemalan roots, or that she doesn’t know much about her cousins who move to town to be closer to her family. She’s starting a new school year, and has a crush on her best friend Jayden, and she wants to be more than friends. And finally, her little brother Memito is becoming harder to understand.
