Resistance comes in many forms, but the one I want to talk about is the one we do to ourselves. Which is the absurd version.
Why do we NOT do the things we know we need to do for our own betterment? It’s baffling, and something I’ve pondered for a while, because — HELLO! — I’m guilty of it, too. And here’s the nugget of it:
The reason we resist doing something that we know is good for us is not because we believe it will be hard or because we’re afraid to fail; it’s because we know it will work. And we will have to change. And how many of us really want that?
