J: And I’m Joy. The idiom we are learning today is: the other side of the coin. It means the opposite side of the subject or situation. You can use it when you are discussing something with someone and you want to mention a different way of looking at it.
 
C: That’s right. Everything has two sides. Usually a good side and a bad side. So whenever we talk about something, there is always the other side of the coin. I know in China, a lot of people study English for exams to get a higher score. But the other side of the coin is that the exams didn’t help them with real communication in English.
