This talk covers 5 big perspectives I have discovered from my experiences, and the experiences and observations of peers, mentors, leaders, and people who have succeeded and won in the growth engine of the digital era: sales.
The episode was based on a LinkedIn publication I posted on November 5, of 2018, by the same title: The "Outcome" Seller: 5 Strategic Perspectives on Selling in the Digital Era. They are:
1. You have be customer obsessed - and this includes being smart enough on their topic areas to challenge your customers or the people you are trying to advocate to
2. Establish credibility, and one really strong way of doing that is by specializing
3. You have to be a consumption economist, we live in a world where new business models are emerging, people are consuming services on everything from cloud storage to automobiles, understanding these trends are hyper important
4. To be effective, and to actually care, you have to find your passion and the utilize the passion of others
5. Branding is everything - it's so important to have a holistic and omni-channel method for how you digitize your thought IP, whether it be words, voice, or video - it’s the best way to reach the most amount of people, the most quickly.
