GIFTED | Week 1: The Giver
The Church does not lack resources.
It lacks activation.
In this first message of our new series GIFTED, we lay the theological foundation for the gifts of the Holy Spirit and why God gave them to the Church. This sermon sets the tone for the entire series by answering the core questions:
• What are spiritual gifts
• Who receives them
• Why they exist
• What happens when they are ignored, abused, or misunderstood
Drawing from Romans 12, 1 Corinthians 12, and 1 Peter 4, this message confronts the modern tendency to reduce church to attendance instead of participation and discipleship.
Spiritual gifts were never meant for personal platforms.
They were given for the building up of the body and the glory of Christ.
This series will not chase hype or extremes.
It will anchor us in Scripture, maturity, and obedience.
GIFTED is a teaching series walking verse by verse through every spiritual gift listed in:
• Romans 12
• 1 Corinthians 12
• 1 Peter 4
Over the course of this series, we will cover each gift individually, explaining:
• What the Bible actually says about the gift
• How the gift functions in the local church
• How to steward the gift with humility and discipline
• How gifts serve discipleship, not ego
This is not about discovering your “superpower.”
It’s about surrendering your life to be used by God for the good of others.
Every believer is gifted.
Every gift carries responsibility.
Every disciple is called to serve.
