At the end of John 16, Jesus wraps up his instructions to his disciples before his crucifixion, reminding them (and us!) that in this world, we’ll have trouble. He also assures us that in him, we can have peace. He concludes the chapter by saying, “But take heart, I have overcome the world.” In this message, we’ll explore our common experience of “trouble” as humans in this life, what Jesus meant by “the world,” and how we too can have overcoming power in our lives!
