Instead of the Gray Fade causing subtraction, they observe an extreme surge of over-pressurized, volatile conceptual enthusiasm manifesting as aggressive magenta light. This surge is reacting violently with the conceptual cold stored in the decommissioned Frostworks, threatening a catastrophic explosion. Zest discovers an emergency bypass loop directing the excess joy toward the cold sink. Since the acoustic key needed to safely vent the pressure valve at the Frostworks is unavailable due to surface deployment against acoustic suppression, Fimble makes the dangerous, unsanctioned decision to use brute kinetic force—a heavy calibration hammer—to manually shatter the sonic lock, hoping to bleed off the pressure before the system overloads.
