In a landmark ruling which overturned a green light given by the previous environment minister Sussan Ley, a pristine portion of Tasmania's Tarkine temperate rainforest has been saved from a toxic tailings dam which Chinese-owned mining group MMG wanted to build. How did it happen? As the Bob Brown Foundation's Adam Burling tells us, it all started with citizen scientists who found rare masked owls living there. And now that discovery could lead to many more forests being saved, because of the legal precedent this case could set. Also this week: the new energy source making waves, the ongoing climate bill saga, and three environmentally catastrophic projects we hope they never complete. This week's ep is a real hoot!
