Christ sets before us in this parable the certainty of God's kingdom and the final wisdom of his judgment. The gospel net is cast broadly through the ministry of the Word, gathering men and women from every kind and nation into the visible church. Yet not all who are gathered are truly Christ's. At the end of the age, the Lord will separate the elect from the reprobate, vindicating his covenant and securing the joy of his people.
