The Parable of the Sower, recorded in Matthew 13:1-9 (also Mark 4 and Luke 8), is one of Jesus's most famous parables.
It describes a sower scattering seed, and the different outcomes depending on where the seed falls: on the path (eaten by birds), on rocky ground (quickly withers), among thorns (choked), or on good soil (produces a great harvest).
In the explanation Jesus later gives, the seed represents the Word of God (or the message of the Kingdom), and the four types of ground represent the different ways people receive and respond to this message.
It is a fundamental teaching about hearing, understanding, and living out the divine message.
Would you like the full explanation of the parable's meaning, as given by Jesus?
