We are called to forgive others.
1. Forgiveness is not a feeling, it is an act of the will, to call on God to change our hearts.
2. Forgiveness is not forgetting. Forgetting is a passive process that takes time. Forgiving is an active process that involves a conscious choice. Isaiah 43:25.
3. Forgiveness is not excusing. Ken Sande’s quote, “Forgiveness is the opposite of excusing. The very fact that forgiveness is needed and granted indicates that what someone did was wrong and inexcusable."
