Good start to the series with too much angst and a flighty heroine

*Slightly Spoilerish* I enjoyed the characters, but the angst was overdone. The heroine became irritating and frustrating as she refused to admit that she was in danger, even after she was shot at! At the end when all hell broke loose, I kind of felt that the fatalities could have been avoided if this tough, super-intelligent, (high-maintenance) wonder woman had had some common sense. The hero saved the relationship with his tenacity, but he had to continually bump heads with her to get anywhere. I still enjoy this series, but I hope the angst level can become a little more reasonable in the following books.

Good read - first of a series

We are introduced to the House of Steele in this first book about 4 siblings who work for affluent clients.

Campbell Steele gets the series started when his sister, Kenzi Steele, gives him an assignment that leads him to Paris. Campbell isn't very keen on the idea of playing bodyguard ... his expertise is in the electronic world. A man who can sit and read code for hours and do things on a computer better than anyone.

Kenzi knows how to get what she wants. And she knows her brother is the perfect one for the assignment to protect Abigal McBane, a young CEO to McBane Communications. Abby isn't thrilled with having a bodyguard, but Kenzi (her friend from way back) convinces her Campbell can help her. Once Campbell begins digging into a 7-miinute breach into McBane's inpenitrable server that went undetected, the suspense begins and grows. Because Campbell used to do what this hacker has done, he understands the dark world of hacking and sets about programs to catch the uncatchable.

I figured out early on who was making the threats against Abby, but it was still a good read following how Campbell and Abby came to the conclusion. Campbell also demonstrated he's a very good bodyguard in addition to his computer-geek self when he protected Abby toward the conclusion of their story.

A Good Series

I really enjoyed these first 2 books of this series and am waiting for the next. There are so many things in this series that you don't see coming and they are some of the most interesting books that I have. I'm keeping these books so that I can reread them. I can't see myself getting tired of them.

Start of another great series

Ms Fox has created yet another family of characters who are both intriguing and exciting. Using romantic cities as backgrounds only intensifies the plot. Well done. Looking forward to where Rowan will lead us.

Interesting characters and plot. I enjoyed the continuation of the Steele family saga.
