God never wanted mankind to be alone or separate from Him; therefore, He invited us into an intimate partnership from the beginning. Yet, man chose to drift and our "solution" to the drift was religion, law, and attempting to conform by self-help and personal discipline. But our "solution" does not bring us close to Him because it doesn't require our hearts to be engaged with His.
