The Passion with Nora Angeles

Listen Later

Nora Angeles, social worker and lesbian activist takes us through her journey from the Martial Law-era Philippines to Canada as she navigated political shifts, homophobia, racism, and religious bigotry to fulfill cultural and familial expectations while holding on to possibilities fueled by her unwavering passion. Could it really be possible to love only one person forever? Does being in a relationship with her wife of 55 years mean anything? Only if you love yourself first. (Note: We referred to FNLRC which means the First National Lesbian Rights Conference held in ‘96. Nora came to the Philippines at that time to video document the process and proceedings. UPSCA is the UP Student Catholic Action.)
