The Patch Gap: How Unpatched Software Is Houston’s Biggest Security Risk

A small Houston-area firm flips on auto-updates and assumes security is handled, but attackers exploit the weeks-long gap between a vendor shipping a fix and that fix reaching every machine. The 2026 Verizon Data Breach Investigations Report found unpatched software caused 31% of breaches, a 55% jump in one year.
