This beautiful elder sister in the Lord shares words of wisdom that are so powerful and full of the Holy Spirit. Ms. Esther Walker explains the phrase she uses “Just go quietly on.”   Whether we like it or not times come around where we become overwhelmed. There is a breaking point we all have. There are hard things that challenge us all our lives. If it is not one thing, then it is another in greater or lesser degrees. However, there are times where something comes around that is not expected, and down we go.

The strength we thought we had is not available. There is a paralyzing that happens to our whole being. It cripples prayer, and reading the word is impossible. Of course there are varying degrees and extent of the thing that comes around, but the power it has to disable us is the same. It seems that no human can help us, no words of comfort. Like C.S. Lewis said after his wife passed away, "I feel mildly cuncussed and afraid, the flowers that used to be so bright and full of color are dull and everything looks gray, there is no taste to food....her absence is like the sky spread out over everything."

David wrote in the Psalms, "When my heart was overwhelmed me, then thou knewst my path." There is a time when our hearts are overwhelmed and we cannot see the way out. But something begins to arise in us like the rising of the sun in our darkness. A power enters in of the life of Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit, and quickens us to get up. To cry aloud to the Lord our Maker, "Hear my cry O God! Answer me in my distress!" And He does answer and sets the overwhelmed in quiet, peaceful habitations in Him.

The Lord Jesus Christ is our Friend, and those that serve Him continually do not falter or fall away when evil comes, but they, like Daniel throw their windows open to heaven and look to Jesus Christ. David said, God knew His path to continue on because the pain was so great he could not know it anymore. Year after year, war after war, fight after fight, as saints grow old, the way Jesus knew that they should go upon, is the one they finally stay upon. They put their hands in His and trust Him, and receive a spiritual peace while the world rages around them. They learn to go quietly on all the way into heaven.
