Devotional 2: The Path to Real Life

Scripture: Romans 8:13 - "For if you live according to the flesh, you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the misdeeds of the body, you will live."

Explanation: This verse presents a sobering contrast: to live according to the flesh results in death, both spiritually as well as physically, but by the Spirit we can put to death the misdeeds of the body and truly live. It's not about perfection, but a direction—a daily battle to choose what leads to life. The Spirit enables us to make that choice and empowers us to follow through.

Application: Take time today to identify areas of your life where the flesh still has influence. Surrender these to God and pray for the Spirit’s strength to overcome. Life in the Spirit isn’t passive—it requires intentional action and faith-filled obedience.
