Scripture: Psalm 34:18; 1 John 3:1-2; Exodus 34:6-7 //
Out of all the relationships in our lives, none have as much influence on us as our family. For good or for bad, our families of origin are tremendously powerful and formative to us as people.
So this week, we're finishing up our series called, “The People Who Shape Us,” looking at the 3 types of relationships that are the closest to us and have the most influence on our lives: our friends, our potential future spouses, and our families. In a lot of ways, you are the way you are because you have been shaped by these relationships. And God ultimately has placed them in your life to make you into the man or woman He has always designed you to be. This week, we’re looking at 3 of the main things the Bible teaches us about family: 1) What God’s design is for the ideal family, 2) How to deal with the fact that our families are not always ideal, 3) How to heal from any family hurt or wounds and move forward as a part of a new, spiritual family.
We hope you’re encouraged by this message! If you have questions about our church or what it means to follow Jesus, we’d love to hear from you! Check out our Instagram @fellowshipya, website www.fellowshipar.com/young-adults, or send us at email at [email protected].”
