Aren’t we tired of performances?
We’ve performed for our parents, our teachers, our friends, our bosses, our partners, our kids, and our neighbors. And they’ve performed for us.
Nearly all the people we see on our screens are full-time performers, including all of the decision-makers who insist that we, the people, also keep performing.
It’s madness, and I’m over it.
I don’t care anymore. I’ve ruined my reputation in polite company, and I say good riddance. Because our social conditioning—the masks we wear to fit into society—is trash. When has acting (i.e., manipulating yourself & others) ever gotten you anywhere worth going?
In my case, my amateur performances got me into relationships and positions with people who were doing lifetime gigs. They used the same playbook with me that they did with countless others—I was needed for a role, nothing more.
It was always a semi-performance on my end because I actually mean this stuff. Above all, I want freedom and truth. And I went into psychology and spirituality to help everyone, not just myself and my paying clients.
I’m bold in these call-out videos because I tried. I really did. I connected with many of these spiritual and healing ‘leaders.’ I’ve seen ten or so in action, several up close. And I’m sorry to say they’re all acting to varying degrees (I remain ever-ready to be proven wrong!).
I don’t judge them—that’s not my job. But I do call them as I see them.
And I do draw a line now—I only want to connect with people who also really mean it (Thank you to those of you who’ve said, ‘I’m in’; we are legion!).
Those of us who’ve freed ourselves—the real ones, ready for a free world—need to keep finding each other. We also need to shut down the performers when we can—they don’t stop of their own volition because they’re usually merged with their character (and often have a big machine behind them, cranking out their script).
And we have to stop watching the show and playing their game. If we stop, everything stops. And that’s merciful for us and them (when actors stop getting paid, they have to find real jobs!).
We’ve all been taught to play in a game we don’t want to play in, on a stage we don’t want to be on, in groups we don’t want to be with, in an insane world.
It’s quite the setup.
But every time we turn off the big show and show up authentically in the current scene of our own life, the more fun we have, the more light we bring in, and the more the world turns toward sanity.
How about ‘All the world’s a playground’ instead?
