According to Sanders, things are looking good for the show's renewal, with the Amazon team currently "hard at work on scripts for Season 2 and a plan for Season 2". Sanders also made an interesting connection between The Peripheral's success to The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power fans. The executive claims The Rings of Power's season 1 brought in new subscribers to Prime Video, and there was a major crossover in viewership between The Rings of Power and The Peripheral.
