The Parent Educator Podcast

The permission you're waiting for isn't coming...

Listen Later

Over the last few months, I've been sitting with mothers who are questioning education, exploring homeschooling and feeling the pull towards something different for their family.

And what I've realised is this:

Very rarely is the real fear homeschooling.

It's not curriculum.

It's not socialisation.

It's not whether their child will "fall behind."

Underneath all of those concerns sits a much deeper question:

Can I trust myself?

Can I trust what I know about my child?

Can I trust what I feel in my body?

Can I trust myself to make decisions that look different from everyone around me?

Can I trust that I don't need someone else to tell me I'm doing it right?

In this episode, I explore how so many of us were conditioned away from our own knowing.

How school, achievement, approval, authority and success taught us to seek answers outside ourselves.

How attachment to outcomes creates suffering.

And why self-trust may be one of the most important gifts we can model for our children.

Because the future doesn't belong to the children who perfectly follow instructions.

It belongs to the children who know how to think.

Who know how to create.

Who know how to trust themselves.

And that begins with us.

Inside this episode we explore:

✨ Why so many women struggle to trust themselves

✨ How school conditions us to seek external authority

✨ The hidden connection between attachment and self-trust

✨ Desire vs attachment and why they create completely different realities

✨ Why self-trust matters more than certainty

✨ How our children learn confidence, self-belief and resilience from watching us

✨ Why homeschooling is often a self-trust journey disguised as an education decision

✨ The role we play in raising children who can think independently and lead themselves

Because maybe the real question isn't:

"Can I trust myself to homeschool?"

Maybe it's:

"Can I trust myself?"

And honestly, I think that's the real work.

Reflection Questions

🤍 Where in your life are you currently seeking permission instead of trusting what you already know?

🤍 What outcome are you attaching your safety, happiness or success to right now?

🤍 What would become possible if you trusted yourself more deeply?

🤍 What are you modelling to your children about self-belief and self-trust?

Ready To Explore What's Possible For You and Your Child?

🌿 Seeing Your Child Audit

This has quickly become one of my favourite ways to support families.

So many parents come to me feeling uncertain, overwhelmed or wondering if they're doing enough.

The truth?

Most of the time they simply can't see all the incredible things they're already doing.

The Seeing Your Child Audit begins with a detailed application and intake form about both you and your child.

From there, I create a personalised profile and send you a voice note walking you through:

✨ Your child's strengths, gifts and learning style

✨ What they're already receiving through their current environment

✨ The incredible ways you're already supporting their development

✨ Areas to lean into further

✨ Reflections to help you trust yourself and your child more deeply
