Persecution is not something that most of us experience in the United States of America. At least, not to the extent that some of our brothers and sisters in Christ around this world. But why is that? Is it that our country is more accepting of God? Or is it because we are not living out the godly life that God calls us to? If we are living out the beatitudes that we have been talking about over the last several weeks, we will be oppositional to this world's beliefs. As a result we will be shunned, talked about, even persecuted. "Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness' sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven." - Matthew 5:10 (NKJV)
