This is a short verse, but carries volumes of truth. David says, “The Lord is my shepherd.” It is believed these words were penned late in David’s life, perhaps when he was being pursued by Absalom. The palace in which these words were penned, the harp on which this melody was played, is buried and under the debris of history, but this truth still lives and radiates like the sun in the day and sparkles like the stars in the black velvet of the night. The Lord is my shepherd. Let’s take a slow look and dig deep in this verse beginning with the words, “The Lord.”
