I wrote The Phoenix while looking at this picture that Eva Bull a fellow resident at my retirement village had painted. I felt the words in the colours, if that makes sense! It is beautifully sung by Michèle Welborn. My melody is arranged and played by James Gladson

I am a retired nurse that discovered that she could write songs. To my surprise after writing my first song at 58 years old I found I was able to write lyrics for a variety of genres and make up melodies. By then singing the words to musicians/music director/producers the backing tracks are then made and vocalists record. I do not wish to be a performer. I love writing songs and am lucky enough to have met many very talented musicians and singers who are willing to work with me.
