Miriam's original role was to protect Moses, and ultimately, despite a life lined with bitterness, she chose to become a bountiful source of sweet water for an entire young nation of desperate people. Rabbi David Ingber reminds us of a similar lesson from Martin Luther King Jr. - that we can either react with bitterness, or we can respond by putting our energy into a creative force.
