Matt Morizio grew up in Waltham, MA, and even as a pre-schooler can remember dreaming of one day being a professional baseball player.
In the 2002 MLB draft, Morizio was drafted by the San Diego Padres in the 48th round as a pitcher/shortstop. Opting to go to Northeastern University instead, he was again drafted four years later in the 17th round by the Kansas City Royals, this time as a catcher.
He played five seasons professionally, four as a catcher and one as a pitcher, realizing his childhood dream.
Today, Morizio has five young children and serves as a private client advisor for Beck Bode, a fee only wealth management firm in the Greater Boston area, working primarily with athletes and entrepreneurs. Not a day goes by where he doesn’t put into practice the lessons he learned as an athlete.
