David continues in this verse, “.… I shall not want.” The Old English translation confuses the meaning of this verse. The words “I shall not want” could be better translated “I shall not be in want or shall not lack anything or I cannot be in want or need.” David is speaking as a satisfied, contented lamb. Why do we have contentment and satisfaction in Christ? What does the Lord provide for us?
Philippians 4:19—But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
Matthew 6:33—But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
