Last week scores of disgruntled unemployed social workers and some self-funded graduates marched to the Union Buildings demanding equal employment opportunities. The presented their memorandum and gave the Presidency 72 ours in which to assess and address their concerns. According to the Council for Social Practitioners, there’s an approximately 9 000 unemployed graduate social work graduates in the country. So this morning we thought to hear directly from them and get to understand what some of their frustrations are.
