Please, sit. I want some more!
I wish the rest of this series was on audible. I would certainly read it!
Bought in March, finished in August - 'nuff said
If anybody but Emma Powell had been narrating, I would have returned this book. There are parts of it that could be very interesting, but it is WAY too long, with so many twists and turns that it became interest-deflating. And the author's notes at the end went on and on, to what purpose I couldn't quite figure out (although I didn't finish listening). Was she trying to point out that although her book was fictional, there had been similar real-life events, in which case, DUH is the only possible response? She apparently did a ton of research, which is admirable, and the novel was constructed so as to lead to future books, which again I believe could be very interesting - with a lot of judicious editing.
Beatifully written and beautiully read
What about Emma Powells performance did you like?
Her voicing of the characters worked well for me and brought an already engaging story even more to life.
Any additional comments?
I have read the print books in this series more than once and am delighted that has been so beautifully performed in audio form. Hopefully the rest of the series will follow in audio format.
I love them. glad to be able to listen
I love this series of books. read them the moment they are published. so the story has to get 5 *. Frances is an excellent character and the plot is well displayed so you know you were given a chance. 4* for narration might be unfair. we have our own idea of character voice so it took some getting used to. can't wait for next one.
Slow start - improved!
If you could sum up The Poisonous Seed in three words, what would they be?
Involved competent mystery
What was one of the most memorable moments of The Poisonous Seed?
Characters are good
Any additional comments?
Ended well for a followup story - which I will listen to!
